Rolex Model Numbers - a guide.

You can sell, buy or insure your Rolex watch better if you know what model it is. You need to be able to find its model number. Finding the model/reference number is usually easy enough. It's printed on the official Rolex certificate/papers issued with your watch.
If you dont have those, or want to double check papers relate to the watch, then the model number is also engraved on the watch casing between the lugs at the 12’o Clock position

To read that you will need to remove the bracelet from the watch to read the model number between the lugs. It is advised you use an experienced jeweller or watchmaker to remove your bracelet to avoid any damage.

Rolex construct their model number based on the watch properties.
